Agreed. I still respect them, but the styling is incredibly corny and they handle like cadillacs and have the performance of Cimarrons. Also, I don't see why something so representative of its era and purpose with a 4 speed manual, gen 1 SBC, and the title of a world-beater of its day has to be compared to brand new cars. People consider a lot of 30 year old cars classics, yet a corvette is not one of them.

One of these comments comes from a guy that races a 1990s SHO. 10 years before that, the C4 was a 150 MPH, 5.6 second to 60, +.90g sports car...

No, they jumped 60s mustangs using 80s vettes as ramps. Because they couldn't use newer and/or shittier cars. The rotting pig was also a terrible thing, though. They used a 4+3 IIRC.

The myth specifically called for a Corvette, and it's not like that C4 is some sort of incredible rarity. It's a Corvette, they made a shitton of them.

What exactly is the myth, though? That corvettes can be used as ramps? Even if that is the myth, I don't see how it would work all that well. Early C4s have steep front fascias and the actual front bumper isn't very low to the ground- it's the front spoiler underneath where the car is low.

I don't know, whenever anything remotely cool is used for pointless stuff like this I get a little sad. A C4's life should end on the track (or in some suburb cruising around midlife crisis style) instead of having other classic american cars thrusted at them by two middle-aged neckbeards IMO. Sorry, Jamie and Adam. Childhood me would be angry at me for calling you that.
